בספר ״אהל־שם״, תרע״ב, (1912) המוקדש לתולדותיהם של רבנים וגדולי־הדור, כותב העורך, ר׳ שמואל נח גוטליב: "מימי ילדותו הצטיין הרב גרויבארט בכשרונות נשגבים, ויצא שמו לתהילה בשם "העילוי משאראנסק". הגאון המצוין הזה, פרט לעוצם גדלו ושקידתו בתורה, היה לבו הטהור ער לכל ענין הנוגע למצב ישראל הרוחני והחמרי. לא אחת התייצב לפני שרי המדינה בהשתדלות להסיר רע הגזרות המתחדשות. אהוד ורצוי לכל המפלגות והשפעתו רבה מאד. בכל טרדותיו יותיר לו עת להגיד שיעור לפני תלמידים מצויינים. בכתובים יש בידי הגאון הזה חידושים על כל סוגיות הש״ס וספר בשם "חזקת היד על הרמב״ם".
