... With the help of various technical devices, includ-
ing listening apparatus and bloodhounds, the Nazis suc-
ceeded in capturing 2,000 Jews from the bunkers on the
second day of the August liquidation. Some of those
arrested were shot on the spot and the rest were dis-
patched to Pietrasze Field, that infernal place where
Jews were caught in a human stampede. On that day
the Gestapo shot Jakow Goldberg, head of the ghetto
