הפרנסים היו בוחרים מביניהם נציגים לוועד הגליל, ואם הקהילה היתה חשובה היה לה נציג גם בוועד ארבע הארצות. מבין המחלקות והוועדות השונות היתה לוועדה שצריכה היתה לקבוע יכולת כל אחד לשלם את המס שהקהילה היתה חייבת להכניס לאוצר הממלכה ומיסים אחרים חשיבות רבה. הקהילה היתה תמיד חייבת מעל לראש וחיפשה מקורות הכנסה חדשים היות והיתה עמוסה הוצאות עצמױת ובמיוחד למסי הממלכה וכל מיני תשלומי שוחד לפקידי הרשות, לכמרים, לכנסיה ולבתי ספר (כדי שהתלמידים והמורים לא יתנפלו על הגיטו היהודי). כל זאת גרם לכך שוועדת השמאים היתה חשובה לכולם וליחיד. ...Source passage 2
