שטיין ב״ר מרדכי זאב לבוב. מפורסם
על שם ספרו "ישועות יעקב". נולד בשנת תקל״ה.
בהיותו בן שתים־עשרה מת עליו אביו הר׳ מרדכי
זאב, אב״ד בלבוב, ובאותה שנה התחתן עם בת ר׳
צבי הירש מייטלס מירוסלב. בביתו שקד על התורה
ושם חיבר ספרו, חלק מהע״ז. בשנת תקס״ג נתקבל
לאב״ד בזולקיב ובשנת תקס״ה, במות הי*׳ צבי הירש
רוזאניש, האב״ד בלבוב, נתקבל הר׳ יעקב לאב״ד
ונהג נשיאותו ברמה במשך ל״ה שנה. ספרו "ישועות
יעקב" פרסם שמו בכל תפוצות ישראל. כן נדפסו
דרשותיו עה״ת וקובץ מתשובותיו. בני הר' מרדכי
זאב אבי הר׳ צבי אורנשטיין נפטר על פניו בי״ז ...
