מחעלמא. יליד זאמושץ, אב״ד ור״מ בחעלמא, רב
הכולל באחוזות הרוזן זאמויסקי, שבמחוזו היו העיירות
זמושץ ושברשין. ובשנת תקל״א, אחרי פטירת ר׳
חיים כהן רפפורט, נתמנה לממלא מקומו בלבוב. גאון
כביר בתורה ובעל ידיעות כלליות, חיבר "מרכבת
המשנה" על הרמב״ם, "עצי שלחן" מסודר על ד׳ חלקי
שלחן ערוך (נדפס ממנו רק חלק על הל׳ שבת ומקצת
לש״ע אבן־העזר), ונשארו בכ״י חידושים על חש׳, ם
ותשובות. בשנת תקל״ז עזב את הרבנית ועלה לא״י.
שהה שם זמן מסוים ויצא לשלוניקי, למען העלות
עוד כרך מספריו בדפוס, ושלם נח נפשו בערך שנת
