ב־25, 26 בנובמבר 1829 היתה רעידת־אדמה
בלבוב, בשנת 1830 סבלו תושבי ה בצורת ומחלות
טיפוס וחולירע, שהשתוללו בחדשי מאי־ספטמבר
1830, והביאו קרבנות רבים. הוקמו אז בתי־חולים
מיוחדים לנוצרים ויהודים. בפרוץ המגפה היה מספר
הנפגעים באוכלוסיה היהודית גדול בהרבה, למרות
מאמצי הרופאים ׳היהודים, וביחוד ד״ר יעקבק ע
רפפורט, בגלל הצפיפות בדירות. ב~7 ביוני 1830
פקדו השלטונות להעביר 300 משפחות לשדוררדשא
מחרךלעיר. בבתי־החולים היהודיים היו 803 חולים,
מהם נפטרו 415 והבריאו רק 388, מלבד החולים
שנמצאו בטיפול באופן פרטי. מלבד הרופאים הצטיינו
שני צעירים יהודים, איזידור והנריק פפאוכעוזרים
