מבחינה מדינית שהשפיעו גם על תהליכי ההתפתחות
של חיי היזזודים בלביב. בשבת 1796 כבשו האוסטרים את
קרקא ונשארו בה עד 1815. בתקופה שבין 1815 — 1846
היתה קיימת קרקא וסביבתה כרפובליקה עצמאית.
בשבת 1809 נכבשה לבוב באופן זמני ע״י הרוסים,
בני״בריתו של נפוליאון. בשנות 1796 — 1809 נספח
לגליציה גם השטח שבין הויסלה והבוג ובתוכו לובלין,
זאמושץ וסנדומירז, בשנות 1809 — 1815 שלטו הרוסים
גם במחוז טרנופול. וגם בוקובינה היתה עד 1848
