... ר׳ מרדכי, אביו של ד״ר יעקב רפפורט, היה רב־
הגליל בפודוליה והתעסק גם ברפואה, והדפיס בסוף
ספרו ״אמרי נועם״ (אולקסיניץ, 1767) תוספת "רפואות
לילדים" עם ,.רצפטים" בשפה הלטינית. אמו שרה,
בת הרב ר׳ יעקב מדובנא, הוציאה לאור ספר באידיש
בשם ״תחינה לאמהות״ (לבוב 1804). ר׳ מרדכי גר
בהורודנקה, עבר לקרקא והתעסק גם שם ברפואה
מעשית. ב־18 באפריל 1781 קיבל ע״י מנהל השירות
הרפואי בגליציה, ד״ר ינדרזיי קרופינסקי, תעודה,
שהוא רשאי לרפא חולים בכל גליציה. התעודה אושרה
בשנת 1782 ע״י הפקולטה לרפואה באוניברסיטת קרקא
וזמן מסויים היה רופא ברובע היהודי קאזימיר ז ע״י
