יליד לבוב או שמוצאו מעיר אחרת. בפעם הראשונה
הוא נזכר בתעודה משנת 1565 0 בתואר חבר בית־
הדין היהודי ונקרא "דוקטור". מכיוון שלא היה רב,
יש להניח שהתואר ביתן לו כפרנס הועד הגלילי של
רייסין. הוא השתתף גם בישיבות ועד ארבע־ארצות
בלובלין וירוסלב.
