... נחמן טיפל עפ״ר בעסקי הליאות עם נוצרים,
בחכירה ובמינהל של הכנסות ציבוריות, כגון: מסים,
מכרות־מלח, בריכות דגים, טחנות, יערות וכר. עוזרת
נאמנה בעסקיו היתה אשתו רויזה בת יעקב, שהיתה
בעלת מרץ ויכלה לנהל את העסקים אחרי פטירתו
של נחמן בשנת 1616 ולהגדיל את רכוש המשפחה.
הודות לעשרה ויופיה היתה לה השפעה בחוגי האצילים
והשלטונות, שקראו לה "גברת אצילה" ("שלאכעטנא
פאני"), אף על פי שתוארה הרשמי היה 16110) 1011
