לדון בפרעות, וטען נגד הממשלה שטרם הסדירה את
ענין ״חורבן היהודים״ — הוכחה שפסק־הדין עדיין
לא בוצע. ב״סיימיק" בהאליץ דרשו אחרי הפרעות
להעניש את "האשמים במרחץ־דמים".
בשנת 1669, ויתר יאן קאזימיר ז על כתר מלכותו
והתפטר. כיורשו נבחר מיכאל וישניוביצקי, אדם בעל
דעות ליברליות, אולם חסר־אונים מכדי לאחוז ברסן
השלטון. מיד לאחר הכתרתו, אושרו כל זכויות * יהודי
