הצבא הפולני ארגן גם שלטון לאומי ובו גם
מחלקה לעניני״היהודים בהנהלתו של יאנטארנובסקי.
אחת הפעולות הראשונות של השלטון הפולני היה
לגבות גם כן האוכלוסיה הנוצרית וגם מן הקהלה
היהודית את מחצית המסים, לשנת 1809 ••*) . אולם ,
לא הספיקו לבצע את החלטתם, כי בר15 ביוני 1809
נכנסה ללבוב חטיבת צבא אוסטרי שנתקבלה בהתלהבות
ע״י התושבים הגרמנים. אחריהם באו הרוסים, שהיו
אז בני־בריתו של נפוליאון, ונשארו בלבוב עד14
