עד שהוכרח לעזוב את בית־חותנו ועבר לבובה, כמורה
פרטי. בשל זיוף־שטרות הסתבך בפלילים עם אציל
פולני והיה צפוי לעונש חמור, אך התביעה בוטלה
בתנאי שימיר את דתו. אז המיר טרלא את דתו,
