הפעם עורר את מתיחות חבר־הארבעים שעמד
במאבק עם מועצת העיר האוליגרכית. בשנת 1576
התחילוה, עם יאן זיידליץ בראש להציג דרישות
ואחת היתה ביטול החוזה שנחתם בשנת 1581 עם
היהודים. בהמון נפוצה גם שמועה שהפאטריצים
העניקו ליהודים את הזכויות תמורת שוחד ג.
כשהתקרב 20 בינואר 1589 ראו שני הצדדים
— הן היהודים הן העיריה — את הפשרה
משנת 1581 כמבוטלת. ושוב התחיל פרק חדש בתולדות
