גם גיסו, יעקב בן וולף גומבריכט, בעל אחותו
הנדלה, נמנה על המשפחות המיוחסות. על הבמה
הציבורית הופיע יעקב גומבריכט בפעם ראשונה בשנת
1624. אף הוא אחד מחשובי החוכרים בתקופה ההיא,
אולם הוא הסתבך בעסקיו הכספיים ובשנת 1634 עמד
לפני פשיטת־רגל, ורק אחרי שקיבל מאת המלך
ולדיסל ב בזמן שהותו בלבוב "מכתב ארכא" לשנה
אחת, הצליח להנצל מנושיו 2). על יסוד מכתב זה
רשאי היה לנהל מסחר חפשי בכל מדינת פולין ועל
נושיו נאסר לתבוע ממנו במשך השנה שום תשלום.
ארכה זו היטיבה את מצבו הכספי ובשנת 1635
השתדל לקבל מאת עירית לבוב חכירת דמי כבישים
וגבול. אולם "ההמון" לא הסכים להחכיר ליהודים
