מקובל היה בסוקלקה לערוך את החתונות בביתו של אליקום רבינוביץ, באולם שבקומה השניה. את החופה העמידו במרפסת הפונה לככר־השוק מול הכנסיה הרו־
סית. לאחר זמן שכרה ה״ליטערארישע געזעלשאפט" את האולמות לפעולותיה ואנשי העיר היו מסדרים את החתו־
נות בבתיהם או אצל מתת המוזג(מאטעס דער שענקער) ברחוב ביליסטוק. כדי לשמח את האורחים היו נוהגים
להזמין את התזמורת של דוד־יצחק, שהכילה חצוצרות, תוף ומצלתיים. וקול התזמורת בקעה עד לרחוב. נגנו
את ה״שערעלע", ואלסים, ורקדו, הסקרנים התרוצצו מסביב הבית, הציצו בחלונות לחטוף מבט על החתן
