... במחוז היו 611 מקומות מאוכלסים, ובהם 9 עיירות
(דומברובה, יאנוב, קוריצין, קוז׳ניצה, נובי־דבור, אודל־
סק, סידרה, וסילקוב וסוכובוליה)׳ 350 חוות וכפרים
ו־252 מושבות קטנות, מהמקומות האלו: ב־292 ישבו
פחות מ־25 תושבים, ב־114 — מ־25 עד 50, ב־118 —
מ־51 עד 100, ב־83 —מ־101 עד 500, ורק בארבעה
מהם היו למעלה מ־500 תושבים. עיקר עיסוקם של
התושבים היה חקלאות ועיבוד־פשתן, זרעו במיוחד דגן,
שבולת־שועל ושעורה. גידול־צאן היה מפותח למדי.
בשנת 1878 נמנו במחוז 41 בתי חרושת שהעסיקו
