תורה" המוסד החנוכי בשביל רוב ילדי העיר והסביבה,
בו למדו תלמידים מכל שכבות האוכלוסיה, בני עניים
ואמידים. העניים חנם והאמידים בתשלום. זכורני, שלפני
חג הפסח היתה מופיעה במוסד אשה נדיבת לב ממשפחת
אפרים וחשקע שפירא, בעלי חנות למנופקטורה, היתה
לוקחת מדות ומכינה לבני העניים חליפות לפסח. ההנהלה
האדמיניסטרטיבית היתה. אז בידי איש שבתפקידו נקרא
"גבאי", מדי פעם בפעם היו הגבאים מתחלפים, עבודתם
