שמח תורה. הקהל מתאסף בבית־הכנסת. תמונת
המעגל הרוקד, מדלג ומכרכר בשירת "וטהר לבנו"
המתפשטת בכל החלל. נשגבים ואדירים היו הרעש
והסערה של הרקודים. הילדים נשאו דגלים ונרות גדולים
וספרי־תורה, והחזן חוזר על הפסוקים "עוזר דלים הושיע
נא". אחרי ההקפות הלכנו לבית־התפילה של חסידי
קרלין (קארלינער שטיבל), שם טרם נגמרו הריקודים,
