... סמוך לכאן עמד בכל תפארתו והדרו בית־מדרש יפה של "השולחן ערוך". חלונותיו העגולים והגבוהים נסכו אור וזוהר לרחוב. בהסתכלי באור השופע וזוהר מחלונותיו, שמעתי את קולותיהם המתוקים והנעימים של המתפללים תופשי תורה, שאחד מהם היה אבי זצ״ל. מבקריו הקבועים שנשארו בזכרוני כמו חיים הירש, איש בדמותו ובתארו, מלאים הוד ומפיקים נוגה, מתנצחים ומתנגחים באהלה של תורה: השמש הישיש, הגבאי, בעל־התפלה בעל־הקריאה וביחוד המתמיד שישב ב״שולחן ערוך" זה ולמד תורה יומם ולילה. ...Connected nodes
