ונשאר בה עד סוף ימיו . מקודם היה גר ברחוב דומברובסקא ועסק
בחרושת סוכריות , משם העביר את דירתו לשוק החדש בבנדין ,
חיסל את עיסוקו בחרושת הסוכריות ועסק בממכר יינות ליחידי־
סגולה, ואף נתמנה סוכן לשטרות־גורל , ומזה התפרנס . תמיד נראה
חיוך על פניו , ובכל בית שנכנס אורו פגי כל אדם . צחוק ובדיחה
והלצה הפיגו כל עצבות , דכאון ודאגה , וזאת לא מתוך קלות דעת ,
אלא מתוך לבו הטוב ואפיו הנוח לבריות . תמיד נמצאה בפיו
