ר' קלמן ידע לכוון את השעה. פעם בערב יום־כפור הביא
לו חסיד אחד מכתב מבנו שהיה גר בעיירה ז׳רנובצי, מכתב עם
פתק להכניס תיכף ומיד ל״תפארת שלמה״ בדבר ילדה, נכדתו,
שנכוותה בידה, ולהזכירה לפני הרבי. וידוע היה, שבימי פורים
וערב יום־כפור היה הצדיק לפיד בוער ולא נתן לשום איש לגשת
אליו. הסתובב ר׳ קלמן אנה ואנה בחצר וחיפש עצה באיזה אופן
להיכנס. בינתים בא הדוור והביא מכתב מארץ־ישראל. והיות
שר׳ קלמן ידע שהצדיק מחבב את ארץ־ישראל לקח את המכתב
ונכנס. עמד וחיכה עד שיקרא את המכתב. וכשראה שבדוחה דעתו,
מסר לו את הפתק של בנו. אמר הצדיק: בפתק כתוב "בתו אסתר
בינה שנכוותה ביד" • קלמן! זוכר אתה את המאמר "לעתיד כל
אחד נכוה בחופתו של חבירו". זה סימן שתזכה לראות בחופתה.
וכך היה. נכדו "שמעון פרידמן מרמת־ים שליד בת־ים היה נוכח
בחתונה זו, כשסבו ר׳ קלמן התחיל לרקוד וסיפר את הסוד של
הבטחת הצדיק. ודבר זה היה כעשרים שנה אחרי פטירת ה״תפארת
שלמה". ור׳ קלמן הוסיף: יש שיעור למטה ואין שיעור למעלה,
ובכן אני מתפלל שיוסיף לי השי״ת שנים כהנה וכהנה. את הדברים
השאיר לבני משפחתו בכתב — "למען תספרו באזני בנכם ובן
