עם המכתב שהגיע מבנדין לקודש פנימה ומסרו לרבי. וכאן קרה
הדבר, שקבע את גורל הרבנות בבנדין ובעטייה המחלוקת הגדולה
הידועה כמלחמת הרבנות בבנדין. הרבי, קראו את המכתב אמר
לד׳ הירש־הניך: הלא זאת היא השאלה הראשונה מהצבור בבנדין,
ואתה כמי שעתיד להיות רבה של בנדין, עליך לפסוק בנידון.
ואז הביע ר׳ הירש־הניך דעתו, שתפילת המוספים בשטיבל תתחלק
בין שניהם, באופן שר׳ יעק׳לה יתפלל ביום ראשון של ר״ה,
ור׳ אהרן יתפלל ביום השני וביום־כפור. הרבי נתן את הסכמתו
בו במקום, ור׳ אהרן נעשה לבעל־מוסף קבוע בשטיבל הגדול.
