ביאנקה, בת הבכירה של הדודה ליזה, אף היא באה במרוצה
וניצבת לפני סאניה כאילו בידיים ריקות. ביאנקה היה לה
מכר גרמני, מנהל של "בית־פקידות הנאמנות". היא רצה אליו כבר
בהשכמת הבוקר. הלז הבטיח לה לעשות את הכל. ואמנם הלך
להשתדל בבית־הפקידות של המשטרה, אלא שחזר משם בלא־
כלום: לצערו נמצא העניוז הזה בידיה של הגאסטאפו, ושם אינו
יכול להועיל. אילו נמצא העניין ברשות המשטרה, או במשרדים
אחרים, היה יכול להשיב את הדבר, אבל בגאסטאפו אינו יכול
לעשות כלום. אמרו לו שהמנהל של ועד־הקהילה יש לאל ידו
