ואילו הקלויז הגדול קבע מושבו בבנין מיוחד משלו עוד בימים עברו, ובו אישים חסידיים רבים בר׳ יעקב׳לה שפירא עם משפחתו הענפה, בנו ר׳ מנדל שפירא שהקים לו בבנין בית לתפארת, בית חסידי־יהודי מובהק. וכן בניו וחתניו ואחר כך נכדיו; ר׳ מנדל רוזנזאפט — חתן ו״יעק׳ל שפירא — איש שכל חייו עסק בצרכי ציבור ותמיד היה מוכן לעזור לזולת, והיו רואים אותו מאסף כסף לצרכי עניים, ובכן היה פעיל בחברות צדקה. הוא היה טיפוס הפוך של "חסיד שוטה", חסיד וירא־שמים מובהק ורכש לו הערצה רבה בקרב המתקדמים ולקח חלק במוסדות־הצדקה שלהם. בין מתפלליו נמנו אישים כר׳ ליפא קאמיגר, האחים ר׳ אברהם וקלמן ליור, שניהם פרנסים בקהלה מטעם ה״אגודה", משד. חיים קמינר, העורך של העתון האגודאי "יודישע וואכנבלאט", ר׳ משה שטייער, רינסקי שלמה יצחק, יו״ר ה״אגודה" ויו״ר הקהלה, פלטיאל אונגר, ר. מ. שנברג, משה ברגר, יצחק קצנגולד, פרץ טאוב. ...Connected nodes
