... בשנת 1909 הוכתר כדיין והצטרף לרבנות המקומית שמנתה רב
ראשי וארבעה דיינים, והיתה מהמפורסמות בפולין. כחבר הרבנות
התפרסם מיד בשטח ההתדיינות, ונעשה ראש המדברים בה, חדר לכל
עומק בעיותיה אשר פתרן בדרך ההגיון ובתבונה רבה. כח השכנוע
שלו — גם במקרים מסובכים — היה גדול, והמתדיינים בכרוהו על
אחרים למינוי בורר זבל״א וכד׳ שמו הלך לפניו והגיע עד לערים
הסמוכות וכן התפרסם בין הגויים, וידוע המקרה כאשר שני יהודים
הביאו משפטם לבי״ד ממשלתי, שאלום השופט: "מדוע אינכם
