המנוח (ניספה עם משפחתו. שני בניו ובת אחת ניצלו בדרך נס,
ומתגוררים בישראל ובאוסטרליה). תודות להשפעתו של המורה
רפפורט, סיפקה עירית בנדין לתזמורת זו כלי־נשיפה בשביל
ארבעים תלמיד, ואני בתוכם, שאומנו ע״י המנצח לומטיג ולאחר
כך גם ע״י ברנבלט המנוח. במרוצת הזמן נתפרסמה התזמורת,
ולא היתה חגיגה בעיר בלי השתתפותה. היא נתנה דחיפה לחינוך
מוסיקאלי של הנוער ופיתוח החוש האסטתי והאמנותי שלו. לשם
השתלמות, נוסעים היינו לעתים קרובות לקטוביץ הסמוכה כדי
לשמוע נגינה טובה בביצוע התזמורת המשוכללת ב״פילהרמוניה"
