רבי ישכר־בר נולד בשנת תקב״ה לאבױ רבי יצחק בן רבי
ישכר־בר, שהיה איש פשוט ״איש ת ם וישר ירא ה׳ ״. הוא
נשא לאשה את בילה בת ר׳ משה מחנטשין, עײרה לא גדולה
ליד עיר המחוז קילץ. אחרי נשואױ עבר לגור בחנטשין,
שם התפרנם כ״מלמד״ לילדי ישראל, בסרבו ליטול על עצמו
עולה של רבגות. ומחנטשין עבר לגור בחמילניק הסמוכה
לחנטשין, עירו של רבי ליפא, ובה היה יושק על התורה ועל
העבודה, והיא, הרבנית בילה, עםקה במםחר ומלחמה הדל
פרםה לבעלה ולילדיד״ עתים הצליח גם רבי ישכר־בר להשיג
