אך סײם את שמונה שנות לימודױ, הכניס ראשו לעול
העבודה כדי לעזור להורױ בפרנםת הבית. את הערבים לא
בילה חײם, כיתר חברױ לכיתה ולשבונה. הוא רצה להרחיב
השכלתו• הוא ידע, ככל שתרחב השכלתו ײקל לו לפרנס את

של בית הספר ערב תיכון. אך חײם המתבגר לא מצא מנוח
