כ׳געדענק: א געװיםן שבת בין איך מיט חײמל זילבער־
בערג געשיקט געװארן צום פארהערן בײם רב דמתא ר׳
אברהם יצחק םילמאן ז״ל. נאכךעם װי מיר האבן געענדיקט,
האט ער אוגז געגעבן א קניפ אין בעקל און געואגט: ״גיט
איבער זקנ׳ען א ײשר כוח׳ יפה דרשתם '״ ער איז אויך
געװעזן א גרויסער בעל־השפעה אויף די תלמידים. פון
צײט צו צײט האט ער זיך ארײנגעלאזט אין א שמועס מיט
תלמידים׳ װאס האבן זיך אויםגעצײכנט אין לערנען און זײ
אויסגעהערט װאס זײ דענקען צו טאן װען זײ װעלן ענדיקן
בײ אים. ער האט זײ געראטן וױיטער צו לערנען און זיך
דערשלאגן צו א תכלית. הוה אומר: םמיכה אויף רבנות
אדער כאטש שחיטה. אויף װי װײט מײן זכרון דערגרײכט איז,
צום באדויערן׳ קײן אײן רב אדער שוחט נישט ארוים פון
