... שלושה םוגי בתי תפילה התקיימו בלוקוב בתקופה שהנני זוכר אותה. בחצר
השוף־הוף הױ בית הכנסת (די שוהל), בית המדרש הישן ועוד כמה בתי תפילה מסביב
להם. בבתי תפילה אלה שהתקײמו מאות בשנים וכמובן הױ המשך של בתי תפילה
שנוםדו עם יסוד העיר, התפללו בנוסח אשכנז (מתנגדים) ושמה התרכזו זקני העיר
שהמשיכו את שרשרת הדורות וכן רבים מהמונים בעיר שהלכו בתמימות בדרך אבותיהם.
השוהל ובית המדרש הישן הױ גם מקום תפילותיהם של רבני העיר — ששמם יצא
לתהילה — שכיהנו פאר בעירנו ובעזרת הנשים של בתי כנסת אלה היו ״שטעדט״
(מקומות קבועים) לכל הסבתות והנשים הנכבדות של העיר, כי במקומות התפילה הקטנים
