העיר. הוא נצב ע״י הצבעים הטובים בעיר, הרש ליב רוחײם מטס מנדלבוים. ליד בית
הכנסת היה גם בית מדרש קטן, שבו התפללו יהודים פשוטים כמו בעלי עגלד״ / קצבים
ובעלי מלאכה. הם גם נקראו ״חברה מקרא״. בכל ערב בין מנחה למעריב ובשבת אחרי
הצהרים הם למדו חומש עם ר׳ אהרן מקרא־רבי. גם בבית הכנסת הגדול ישבו בכל ערב
קבוצת יהודים מסביב לשולחן ארוך ועמם למד ר׳ אפרים ליכטנברג. בתלמוד התורה
