מחושמל. הגיטו בלבוב היה מוקף גדר־עץ. מלאכת
התקנת הגדר נמסרה לידי המהנדס נפתלי לנדאו, חבר
המועצה היהודית, והתנהלה על חשבון המועצה
נ. לנדאו היה מפגר בעבודתו, שביצועה נתמשך זמן
רב, ואת העיכוב תרץ בחוסר החמרים הדרושים
(קרשים). אך לבסוף נסתיימה המלאכה, והיהודים
יכלו להיכנס ולצאת רק דרך שער הגיטו, שמעברו
הפנימי עמדו שוטרים יהודים, ומשמרות הבולשת
הגרמנית והאוקראינית — מעברו החיצוני. בעד השער
היו יוצאים היהודים לעבודתם מחוץ לגיטו. בזמן
הראשון היה כל אחד רשאי לצאת, אבל אח״כ היו
