בסמינריון והבליטו את דעתם השלילית בדו״ח
לשלטונות בוינה. ביהוד התלוננו על אי־סדרים ועל
בריחות תלמידים מן המוסד. כמובן, הוטלה האחריות
על המנהל אהרן פרידנטל. השלטונות תמהו על הירידה
הפתאומית במסת התלמידים, שבשנת 1798 לא נשאר
מהם אלא אחד. ב־27 בדצמבר 1798 דרשו שלטונות
וינה מהגוברניון הסבר "מדוע נמצא כעת בסמינריון
