בזמן שהותו בלבוב, ובתואנה זו ערכה המשטרה ב־11
במרס 1862 חיפוש בביתו ומצאה אצלו חומר שהעלה
חשד על השתייכותו לארגון המרד הפולני. הוא נידון
למאסר ושוחרר בשנת 1867. היה פקיד במשרד־האוצר,
אולם בתוצאות העינויים בסוהר היה כל ימיו חולה
ורצוץ. יחד אתו נאסר גם יקלס, שנידון למאסר ואחרי
