ב״היכל "לנוער ולמתפללים. בדרשותי ביקש להשפיע
על חינוך הנוער ברוח היהדות. המתבוללים התלוננו
על מורי הדת והעברית בפני המועצה הארצית של
בתי־הספר, שהוציאה איסור על לימוד תנ״ך במקורו
ודרשה, שהמורים ישתמשו בהוראתם בתרגומו של
הכומר וויאק. אז השמיע ד״ר גוטמן בדרשתו דרישה
נמרצת ללמד את הנוער לקרוא בספר הספרים במקורו,
שיבין את שפת הנביאים, וכי נחוץ לספר לנוער על
תולדות עמו, גדולתו ותפארתו. בשנת 1905 אישר
ועד־הקהלה את עמדתו של ד״ר גוטמן והוא נתמנה
כמטיף בפולנית. במשך הזמן שחררוהו מהנהלת בית־
הספר ובמקומו נתמנה שמואל שלגובסקי. בתחילה
שימש ד״ר גוטמן כ״רב בית־הכנסת" ובשנת 1920
קיבל תואר של "רב־הקהלה בלבוב". כממלא־מקומו
בתור רב בית־הכנסת נתמנה ד״ר לוי פריינד. ...Connected nodes
