אחרי ונבחר נינו של ר׳ יהושע פאלק, ר׳ יעקב
יהושע בר׳ צבי־הירש, בעמ״ח ״פני יהושע״ (1681־
1756) שהיה חתנו של ר׳ שלמה סגל לנדה פרנס־הקהלה
בלבוב. הוא היה פעיל בהוראה ומטעם הקהלה הוטל
עליו הפקוח על כל המלמדים, בהפצצת מחסן אבק־
השרפה ב־27 בנובמבר 1703 נהרגו אשתו לאה, חותנתו
רייזל ואביה שמרל כץ ובתו. המאורע דכאוהו מאד
והוא עזב את לבוב. התחתן שנית עם טויבה, בתו
של ר׳ יששכר־בער הגביר מלבוב ושימש ברבנות
