... במצב היהודים לא חל כמעט שום שנוי. היהודים
קבלו מידי המלך פריביליגיה שלא צמצמה במאומה
את זכויותיהם. שנוי בא רק בהרכב האוכלוסיה
היהודית. כידוע, גבר בימי קאזימירז זרם מהגרים
יהודים מגרמניה, שהמלך העניק להם זכות-יתר. גל
הפליטים הגיע גם לבובה. המהגרים החדשים דחפו
לאט־לאט את הישוב הכוזרי־הקראי מעמדתו, במקום
השפה הסלבית השתלטה השפה הגרמנית־האידית,
