... בין חוקי ה״גנרל־גוברנמנט" היה חוק "עב־דת־ הכפי ה של היהודים" שחייב כל יהודי ויהודיה מגיל 14 עד 60 שנה לעבוד בשביל הגרמנים. אחרי סיפוח גליציה חל החוק גם על יהודי לבוב. הגרמנים יסדו בעיר משרד־עבודה, ובו מחלקה מיו־חדת לעבודת־ יהודים ("יודען־אייגזאץ"). המשרד לעבודת היהודים שכן תחילה בבית־הספר אשר ברחוב זמקניטה, (בסמטה צדדית על־יד רחוב גרודצקא) ואח״כ הועבר לבית־הספד ע״ש מיקדלי ריי אשר בככר־המיסיון. בראש המשרד עמד הגרמני היינץ וובר׳ איש אכזר מאד׳ חסר־תרבות והשכלה. פקידי המשרד היו יהידים, שלאחדים מהם יצא שם רע בציבור היהודי בגלל התרפסותם לגרמנים ורוע מעשיהם לאחיהם. ...
