... הגוברנטור הראשון של מחוז־גליציה היה ד״ר
קארול לאש. ביום 24 לינואר 1942 נאסר לאש באשמת
מעילה בכספי המדינה, זיוף חשבונות, גניבת "שטיחים,
פרוות, חפצי אמנות וכו׳ לאין קץ" מתן שוחד לאשת
הגנרל־גוברנטור הנס פראנק׳ והוטל בו גם חשד לאשת
"גילוי־עריות" ("חלול־הגזע") ובגידה במולדת. במקומו
נתמנה ד״ר וועכטר, מי־שהיה נציב מחוז־קרקא. כעוזרים
לראש האדמיניסטרציה הגרמנית היו פעילים בלבוב
משרד ראש־הבולשת והם. ס. למחוז־גליציה, הגנייל־
מאיור קאצמן וראש הבולשת הסדירה ד״ר רוברט
אולריך מגראץ, אוסטריה. בימים הראשונים אחרי
הכיבוש הגרמני כיהן בתור ראש־העיר המלומד
האוקראיני פרופיסור פולאנסקי (גיאוגרף), אבל לאחר
סיפוח גליציה ל״גנרל־גוברנמנט" בטלו הגרמנים גם
את הצל האחרון של ה״אוטונומיה" האוקראינית, ומינו
את הפקיד הגרמני קויאטה כשר־העיר, ואחריו בא
