הקהל היה צריך לבחור גם מנהל לבית־הספר
היהודי. ב־15 ביולי 1893 מת ד״ר ברנהרד שטרנברג
(1823 — 1893), שהיה מנהל בית־הספר 45 שנים, ותרם
הרבה להתפתחותו וגידולו מבחינה חינוכית ומספר
התלמידים והמורים. ד״ר ב. שטרנברג היה פעיל גם
בחיים הציבוריים, וביחוד בהנהלת "היכל הנאורים".
בהנהלתו מלא בית־הספר תפקיד ניכר בחיים
התרבותיים של יהודי לבוב. אחריו נתמנה כמנהל בית־
הספר המורה מאנדל, ובשנת 1899 מנו את ד״ר שמואל
גוטמן (1864 — 1935) במשכרת של 2400 כתרים לשנה.
ב־14 בפברואר 1909 הסתלק ד״ר ש. גוטמן מתפקיד
המנהל אחרי שנתמנה לרב ומטיף. ואת ביוד־הספר
ניהל המורה שמואל שלאגובסקי, ובמותו נתמנה הרמן
