9. גימפל אדולף. מוסיקאי, מנצח תזמורת,
מנהל ובעליו של "תיאטרון גימפל" הנודע, ברחוב
יאגילונסקא בלבוב. תיאטרון עממי יהודי זה גידל
וחינך דור שלם של שחקני־בימה יהודים, והיה מקום
כינוס חביב לחוגים עממיים בלבוב היהודית, אליו נהרו
לשמוע ולראות שיר ומשחק, המשך ישיר של מסורת
גולדפדן ו״הזמרים מברוד". בנו, ברוניסלב גימפל,
נתפרסם כפסנתרן מוכשר. גימפל האב התפרנס כמורה
למוסיקה ב״רובע היהודי" ונתפס במחבואו במבצע־
הדמים האיום באוגוסט 1942 והוצא לבלז׳ץ (כ־50,000
מיהודי לבוב נרצחו אז, נכלאו במחנות־עבודה או
