... הם סמכו על קשריהם בחצר־המלכות, ולמעשה
הצליחו גם בעזרתו של מטיף־החצר, הכומר פיוטר
סקארגא, להשפיע על המלך לשלוח לבוב ועדה,
שתמציא לישועים את המגרש הדרוש להם. המלך
הטיל גם על הסטרוסטה הלבובי, ירזי מגישך, לעמוד
לימינם ולעזור להם בכל פעולותיהם. הישועים התלוננו
לפני המלך על העיריה שמכירת המגרש היתה בלתי־חוקית
ועל היהודים שקניתם והחזקתם ברכוש היא בניגוד
לחוק. שני הצדדים עמדו בתוקף על דעתם, שפעלו
ברוח החוק, ולכן תקפה של העיסקה שריר וקיים.
