... תקט״ו (1755), ר׳ אדיה ליב ב״ר שאול, אביו בנו של הר״ר העשיל, היה אב״ד בלאקטש, בריסק, אפטא, קרקא וגלוגא, גם ר׳אריה ליב כהן ברבנות בכמה קהילות חשובות כרישא וגלוגא, אחרי־כן נקרא לשבת על כסא הרבנות בלבוב מקום חותנו ה״חכם צבי", זמן מה שימש ברבנות, אבל מפני המחלוקת בקהל ה בקשר לתביעות בעל "פני יהושע". לא השתקע בלבוב ולא הניח רבנותו בגלוגא, עד שנקרא לכהן כרב באמסטרדם, ושם נפטר בשביעי של פסח תקט״ו. ...
