... בשנת 1899 נוסד ביזמתו של ד״ר מאיר מונק ,
(מהמבורג, חתנו של שמואל רוקח עשיר מופלג
וממנהיגי האדוקים) ובתמיכת הקהלה בית־ספר ללימוד
לשון עברית "חנוך לנער" בבית־הספר למדו אחרי '
הצהרים תלמידי גמנסיות עברית, דקדוק, תנ״ך, משנה
ו״שלחן־ערוך". הלימודים נמשכו 4 שנים. כמנהל
נתמנה הפדגוג והסופר העברי־אידי יצחק אבן (1861־
1925). אבן נתחנך בבית חסידים, אולם "התמשכל"
ונעשה מורה. פרסם מאמרים וסיפורים מחיי החסידים
ב״מחזיקי הדת״ ואח״כ ב״המגיד״ (בקרקא); יסד
בבוריסל ב בית־ספר עברי ראשון בגליציה. בשנת 1895
עבר לבובה, יסד שם בית־ספר מודרני ללימוד עבריה
ובשנת 1899 קבל את הנהלת בית־הספר "חנוך לנער". ...Connected nodes
