תקע״א בברזן, התחתן עם בת הר׳ יצחק אהרן הלוי
איטינגא מלבוב. בבית חותנו שקד על התורה יחד
עם גיסו, אחי־אשתו הר׳ מרדכי זאב, ויחד חיברו
הספרים הנ״ל. בי״ז שבט תרי״ז (1857) נתקבל הר׳
יוסף שאול לאב״ד בלבוב. השיב לכל שואל בהייכה
וחיבר ספרים בהלכה ואגדה, מהם נתפרסמו תשובותיו
"שואל ומשיב" בחמש מהדורות, "יוסף דעת" ליו״ד
