הגרמנים את היהודים לנהל פעולה תרבותית פומבית
— במקצוע הנגינה והזמרה. לבוב היתה עשירה
במנגנים וזמרים יהודיים, מהם בעלי־שם באמנותם,
ובזאת השתמשו הגרמנים והפולנים־האנטישמים
לתעמולתם. בעיתון היומי גאזעטא לבובסקא " הופיעה
"שירה" סטירית על המנגנים היהודים בלבוב׳ ונקבו בה
בשמות של למעלה מ־40 אמנים (ראה להלן׳ נספח ו).
מבין המנגנים היהודים ארגנו הגרמנים שתי תזמורות,
האחת ב״יו־לאג" והשנית במחנה היאנובי. אנשי התז-
מורת היהודית אולצו לנגן בעל־כרחם ברגעים טראגיים
מאד — בשעת המפקדים האיומים וה״מבחף׳ ליד שער
