העירייה לא ראתה בעין־יפה את מעבר היהודים
לרובעי הנוצרים. בינואר 1818 התלוננו העירונים
בפני השלטונות שיהודים שוהים בעיר מתחתנים,
ומהווים סכנה כלכלית. אולם, השלטונות דחו את
