בשום מקום לא יכלו האנשים הנרדפים על צווארם
לשהות זמן ממושך. כאשר תכפו הרציחות בחורבות העיירה,
נמלטו הניצולים־בנס אל היער. כאשר הגויים נותני־מחסה
ומחבוא(מהם כמה "חסידי אומות העולם" ממש), נבהלו ממעשי־
הנקם של הרוצחים כלפי אנשים טובים כאלה, נאלצו המתחבאים
ל״שחררם" מפחד נורא זה ולברוח לשדות או ליער, לקראת הגורל
האכזרי, הבלתי־נמנע. אנשים אחרים העדיפו להצטרף מרצונם
למחנות־עבודה חקלאיים קטנים שבסביבה, כגון דובראנובקה ליד
אוזיראן, ובעיקר ביקשו הצלה במחנה ליסובצה ליד טלוסטה
