בני נוער יהודים מעיירות פולין נהרו דרך רחובות
סוקולקה, עם נסיגת חיילי רוסיה, מי לרוסיה ומי לליטא,
עד שיעבור זעם. אני, ועוד מאות כמוני, עברנו את הגבול
ונכנסנו לשטח ליטא. חלק מועט מן הנוער הצליח לנסוע
מליטא, דרך גרמניה, לארץ־ישראל, אבל רובם שבו
לפולניה, כאשר שקטה הארץ, כי בליטא היה הכרח
